The Washington Chinese Dancing Academy (WCDA) was established in 2002 for the promotion of Chinese Traditional Dancing Art in the United States. Since its founding, performers of different ages (from kindergarten to teenagers, from college students to working mothers) have vividly described a variety of stories from China’s long history and multiple cultures through the beautiful art of dance and body movements.
Recently many Chinese-Americans have joined the Academy to receive training by professional personnel, under the artistic direction of Ling Jin, making the Academy well known in the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area. Some of its talented performers have received awards as a group or Solo-Dancing Medalist in Higher Education of Maryland Dancing Competitions.
The WCDA has performed in many important events and holidays in recent years: |
